Church of San Juan Bosco in La Fortuna
My husband and I would like to renew our wedding vows for our 10 year anniversary at the Church of San Juan Bosco. It is mentioned in Fodor's Costa Rica 2006 book.(p. 109) However, I am having trouble reaching anyone there. I have this number 506-479-9185. Can anyone help?
Thanks! Marcy

I posted this already, but it hasn't shown up. Let me try again:
First, I have to say if you're expecting some charming, colonial-era church, it isn't that. It's a typical small-town Costa Rican church: squat, mostly unadorned, and nothing distinctive architecturally. As the book points out, it's much photographed because it sits in the foreground of the view of the volcano, which looks kind of menacing in the background. If you can arrnage something with the parish office, I just wouldn't want you to get there and be disappointed.

I agree with the previous post.. the interior of the church is not particularly impressive. If you are expecting soemthing romantic and tropical you will be disappointed. I was just there last week and they were painting the interior... not sure if they are doing some kind of renovation, or how long it might take, but if you are planning on going soon you might want to ask about it.
