Caye Caulker
Caye Caulker is a very relaxed place! If you wish to "get away from it all" this is a great choice! When booking a place to stay, ensure that it has beachfront access and preferably a finger pier you can sit out on or get into the water from! (The Anchorage has both!) Unfortunately, we chose to stay at "Treetops" which has neither. The room we stayed in was clean and safe, but the proprietors were very blunt, not welcoming (NOT "friendly" as stated in the Lonely Planet) and as they do not like to pay their cleaning staff past 10:30 am, expect to get a knock at your door starting at 8:30 am from housekeeping. (Note: check out at Treetops is 9:30 am)
Despite our dislike of Treetops, Caye Caulker was wonderful!
