Cancun help- leave in morning!

I have been reading about fighting the tour operators to get a ride to my hotel in a van. I will be staying by myself(Mom's weekend away) at the JW Marriott and am concerned about how a single woman can best navigate Cancun airport in order to avoid the clamor and just get a ride. Thanks so much. Threehearts

I only know PV but maybe Cancun is the same? There are regulated (set price) airport taxis that you pay for a ticket at a booth then get assigned a taxi driver.

After you get through customs, green light, red light, Just walk staright through the terminal toward the outside and say "collectivo" or "taxi" and you will be aopproached. Tell them "cuanto for JW Marriot". It should be $9 or $90 peso. Follow them to the van and have a short trip. Hope your weather is great!

Dear Threehearts,

Just FYI. It is sometimes mass mayhem when departing the airport. However, do not be overwhelmed. Most are "friendlies" and just working hard for you.

You may also consider calling the JW concierge before arrival to see if a van can be sent from the hotel to meet you. Just fax or E-mail the concierge your itinerary and I am sure they will accommodate. This may be a little more than the regular taxis, however, it may give you the peace of mind you are looking for upon arrival.

Hey Dougout,

Frank444 here. How are you? You helped me navigate back in 2002 with wife and we had great time. I have another question for you. Please see my latest post in the Latin American board.

Thanks in advance.

P.S. Sorry Threehearts for using your space for this message.
