Cancun bargains?

Cancun bargains? Hotels? Restaurants? Tours? I'm a Senior planning my first trip to Cancun in February '08. Was in Cozumel on cruise and not that impressed. Am looking for warm weather to escape winter in Adirondacks. Want to experience local color with eye towards future condo investment.

Thanks,

I think you should look at Isla Mujeres. Close to Cancun, but vastly different. Lots of condo development going on now on Isla, but it's still a small town 'feel'.

Last spring in Cancun we stayed at Ambiance Villas Ken Ha. The price was great, about $105 for a double, very nice property, fine pool and beach - in fact, a much better beach than the neighboring more expensive places. There was a small supermarket and laundermat across the road and about 300 yards away. If you are fit, they also have a beautiful and large one bedroom apartment with a gigantic balcony with a nice view over the bay about three flights up but worth the climb. I don't the usual rate for that, but they offered it to us for the regular room rate on check in.

Thanks for your replies.

I like what I hear and will check them out.

I live in Lake George area and know that clean, safe lodging and wholesome food can be obtained at half the typical tourist rates.
