Cabo vs. Acapulco??
Deciding between Cabo and Acapulco for a vacation with some friends in January. Does anyone recommend one over the other? Also, what hotels would you recommend? Any suggestions about what to do/see there would be helpful!

These two cities are not the most popular here, but I'll answer with...
Are you set on them? Or would you consider other destinations? My suggestions would be Puerto Vallarta, Ixtapa/Zijuat, or on the other side Playa del Carmen. For the Baja: La Paz, Todos Santos, San Jose del Cabo.
Hopefully fans of Cabo and Acapulco will chime in... or do a 'search' I know there's info on other threads about those 2 places.

It really depends on what your own interests are.
Cabo tends to appeal to folks who like fishing and golf a lot more than they like local character, nightlife, or beaches.
Acapulco is a more urban feeling and cosmopolitan feeling kind of place. Lots of folks from Mexico City zip out to Acapulco because it's an EASY drive from the capital. Good nightlife and good dining are pluses in Acapulco.
Have fun!
