I've visited both. What's your criteria?

Like scenic places, good beaches, water activities like snorkling... Want to avoid the driving. So need to have restuarants, shops .. all near by

OK. I think Cabo is your destination. For scenary, few places beat the dramatic collision of dessert and sea. Lover's Beach, with it's towering rocks jutting out of the sea, all the visible wildlife, beats out PV. If you stay near or at downtown you won't need to drive. Many good restaraunts within walking distance, ask for Macambo's.

Puerto Vallarta, no contest. It is charming authentic Mexican jungle beaches mountains friendly local people great food shopping restaurants. Stay in Old Town rather than out in the resort zone.

Puerto Vallerta. I've been to both places. It's more "jurassic Park" looking (lots of jungles) and the taxi ride from the hotel zone to downtown is 1.50 each way. Also, the streets are cobblestone and give it a really cool look.

I've been to both and definitely P.V.for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday. Cabo is great if you like drunk as a skunk, smellin like one too, hookers, strippers, drug addicts and alcholics and low life gringo/gringa locals who gravitate there to enjoy the good life at your expense {they sell you anything even your own mother in law}

May I suggests a nice third option?:

Puerto Escondido. Very, very cheap...great beaches, fishing, restaurants, etc.

Seriously, you don't know the meaning of "value" until you vacation in the state of Oaxaca.

Go anywhere except Cabo! The place is a dump.
