Buenos Aires with a 5 year old

Hi, We are planning to go to Buenos Aires some time mid September or early October with our 5 year old. We are planning to stay about a week. We will be staying in Buenos Aires. Can you give me some ideas what can we see/visit with a 5 year old?
Thanks in advance.

It is early spring and a great time to be in BA. Local zoo? Tren de la Costa to Tigre and to our Disney? Temaiken zoo out of town?

I just returned from a trip to BA with a 5 year old. You will have to go to Temaiken Animal Park. Take the bus (#60, I think) from Plaza Italia in BA. It is about 75 minute ride and the trip it an entire day. There is a zoo in BA, which we did not get to. There is also a zoo about 1.5 hrs from BA by bus which lets you pet animals (monkeys, tigers, ducks, etc). My friend went alone with her 5 yr old and said it was great, although the children cannot pet some more of the exotic animals. Also, she said it was maybe not the cleanest experience! I can't remember the name, but it may be an option if you are adventurous!

Hi, try Ciudad de los Niños (= city of the small ones), between Buenos Aires and La Plata. Itīs a miniature town that Evita Peron built. Children like it. Than you should visit La Plata, that has a Natural History Museum that is quite good. La Plata is a college town (is the word correct?).
