A few more Bosque del Cabo questions (again).

Do the deluxe cabins offer more living space?

Do any of the deluxe cabins have more then one bed? Fae talks about a loft in thier cabin (La Palma?). I would like to learn more about the loft, too.

How does the Casa Blanca compare to the deluxe and regular cabins?

Are there any differneces between the stucco and hardwood cabins?

Gem we stayed in a deluxe cabin named Gecko. This cabin had one large nice comfy bed. It also had an inside seating area. This is an all stucco building. The bed frame was a stucco frame with the mattress on top, seating areas (with cushions), tables, and shelf were all stucco sculpted right into the walls. There was tile flooring, both inside and out. There was lots of space in this cabin. You came into the combo living/bedroom area and to the back was a large space, closets on either side. Bathroom to the left and shower out to the right. The outside seating area was also stucco, with cushions on top. Huge wrap around two sides porch.

Since you have a child, I don't know if they have cots. But the area off the bedroom/living space is quite large and would more than have enough space for a cot. Or she would end up having to sleep on the sofa or with you.

We visited two of the hardwood cabins to the right of us. Both of these had 2 double beds, which took up much of the floor space, hardwood floors inside and out.

All had very nice bathrooms and that fabulous shower with a view!

Someone, I am sure will describe some of the other cabins. So many love Congo, would love to get a description on that one.

The Congo is actually one of the smaller deluxe cabinas. Pretty much just enough room for the king sized bed. The bathroom of course, was still wonderful. The one thing that sets it apart from the others is the great view. We saw a whale from there last year. There is a nice platform to sit on and look out from as well as the deck attached to the cabina.

The cabina we stayed in two years ago was next door to your Gecko and very similar to the Gecko in design I suspect from your description.

This year we stayed in the lovely Mariposa which was very large. There was a table and two chairs in the area where the bedroom is as well as a nice sized dressing room with a couch. Certainly large enough for a cot or two. It is the last cabina to the left and is a bit more private as you only have one neighbor. There is a nice platform to look out over the ocean from but the view is a bit obscured by the plants that have grown up. A couple of things that set this apart from the others are; the lovely tiled bathtub in the outdoor shower area, a wonderful place to stargaze from . Because this is more private, the wall that looks out towards the ocean and where the tub is located is lower than others we have been in. Secondly, this is where a lot of the monkeys usually come into the area from to swing along the edge of the property along the ocean side. While taking my last shower before dinner the night before we were to leave I had quite an audience of spider monkeys trooping through LOL.

My husband was in Bambu last August while there which is one of the standard cabinas. It is the very last one to the right. He loved it there because it is where the Scarlet Macaws hang out. It is also where the Howler Monkeys were hanging out this year. There really isn't a bad location for any of the cabinas and whether standard or deluxe, they are all nice. When I talked about things that set them apart, I was comparing the ones that we have actually stayed in. Can't really say what the others are like. They have all been occupied when we were there. I am having fun learning about them one by one.

For anyone who might be staying in the garden area, while we were there last week they had just finished up a new suspension bridge that makes it much easier to get to and from the garden houses/cabinas. There were lights along the path from the bridge to the bar area where the path comes in. Don't know about lights on the other side. Didn't really notice. I certainly would have been more comfortable with this path had they had it when we stayed in Casa Teca.

One thing about Gecko, it to has some plant growth that obstructs the view, however not completely.

With your directions, I can pick each one that you have talked about. It is such a lovely place. And the Macaws that came through our area each afternoon - I was able to follow them to the left to the cabin you have spoken of. The monkeys too, this is when I was actually invited in to see a couple of the other cabins. I guess these guests thought they may as well get to know me, since I kept showing up!

I am sure people staying in the Garden area will be happy to have that bridge completed. And lights, will certainly make the trek much better.

I really cannot wait to go back to this place.

The Miraposa sounds wonderful. If BdC does not have cots, do you think that the sofa in the dressing area would be a nice spot for our daughter to sleep? Is there another sofa in the room or on the deck? Is Miraposa stuco or wood?

Gem when you go to the link below, you see the blue cushion chair - this is actually on the porch of Gecko. The sofa is just like this except, there are no arms on the inside sofa. Maybe this will give you an idea of what I am trying to describe. Click on cabins and the cabin at the top of this page is Gecko.

As for sleeping on this sofa - I never stretched out on the inside one, but spent quite a bit of time stretched out on the outside sofa reading. So yes, probably for a child it would work. Can't remember how old of a child we are speaking of, but my 6'2" son, no would not work!

Sparklegem, when we were at Bosque a couple of weeks ago, a family we met, couple with an 11 year old daughter, stayed in Mariposa and loved it. Their daughter slept in what they described as an alcove; not sure whether a bed had been brought in or whether she slept on a couch, but they were very happy with the arrangements, if that helps you with your decision. They had stayed in 2 other cabins and that one was their favorite.
