Boca del Toro Advice--LAFadeAway or anyone?

Thinking of flying NatureAir to Boca del Toro, then returning bus bus to Puerto Viejo for a few days before Tortuguero tour. Not sure how we want to get to BdT, but would love to save the time by flying. I just need advice in general on trips to BdT--anyone?

Hi Shillmac,
It's been awhile since this post began, but I know you are on this site often so I'm wondering what you know of BdT these days. We are planning our 4th trip to CR and were thinking that we will split the trip this year and venture into Panama. We have read a bit about BdT and were looking on the website, but trust your opinion as you have given good advice for the past 3 trips to CR. We are thinking of flying directly to Panama from NY, staying for 3 days or so and then heading back to our beloved CR for the rest. Thanks in advance for your help.

Would you fly into PC, then catch a flight to Bocas? We flew to Bocas on Nature Air, then taxied back into Puerto Viejo. I liked doing it that way; seemed like a good travel mix, and all went smoothly.

Had a great time on Bocas--let me know if I can help further. I had some very good help from another Fodor poster, cmfong, who posted a trip report by a friend. We used that as our "travel guide" for Bocas. . .as well as some tips from Lisa in Manuel Antonio. It's a great place to visit.

I posted a report when we returned last year.
