17 days in CR

hello, this is our tentative new agenda for 17 days from Nov. 14 to Dec. 1

1 night San Jose
5 nights BdC
1 night Poas
3 nights Arenal
3 nights Monteverde
2 or 3 nights Playa del Coco (visiting)

We plan on flying to BdC and renting a 4x4 for the remainder of the trip.

This agenda could change depending on if we do BdC first or last. Any suggestions of input would be gladly appreciated. We would do the rest of the trip in reverse order to have the Pacific beach area over Thanksgiving.

Should we do BdC at the front or end of the trip? Two reasons i would rather do it at the end. 1) Save it for the end. 2) Would be better to have another 10 days before going avoid the rain in BdC?

This could change depending on if we did BdC first or last.

Also, can anyone tell me if they know if whats up with the weather site?

When i go to it, it says it cant be found.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Personally, I would save BDC for last. You will have a fantastic trip either way, but it is really something to look forward too

It looks like you want Playa del Coco last, is this because you can do 3 nights that way?

Good that you're driving, will give you some flex on arrival and departure to Poas.

I'm really happy for you and that you're still able to make your trip! 17 days will be great!

thanks hip, that works. Thanks also for your report. It was really helpful.

Do you think it will also be of much help to avoid the rain in BdC?

The main reason that i m considering doing BdC first, is that it would be easier on us (taking our time at home and packing two seperate bags for our flight to BdC. Also, the whole flow of the trip would work better.

If we did BdC last we would reverse the other part doing Poas first so that we end on the Pacific side. We want to spend the time visiting people for Thanksgiving

Thanks, Bill

It sounds like your first plan has a better flow for you, so I'd just go with that. As to the weather it's unpredictable so you just have to go and wing it!

I think your schedule looks great. I'm so glad you're getting to go. We just got back from BdC and didn't have any rain at all even though it's the rainy season, so it is unpredictable. We got lucky, and I hope you do too. We took books just in case but barely got to read them.

I always like to do BdC last but either way as long as you get to go it's fine at the start, middle or end! Do you get in early enough to SJO to head to BdC the same day? It would give you the chance to spend 1 more night in the Poas area if you wanted.
