can anyone recommend a great all inclusive in cancun?(adults only)

It's not exactly Cancun, it's PLaya Del Carmen about 30 miles south of, but Royal Hideaways gets great reviews here (on this board). I haven't been but know people who have and they spoke very highly of it (and they are picky).

It all depends on what you mean by great. Is the beach really important to you, do you want concierge service. What's your price range, etc???

For top of the line service and food, look into the Iberostar Paraiso Grand.
Also, if you're going after the summer check into Secrets Maroma which will open in August. These are both about 20 inutes from Cancun airport--south of Cancun.
Also check out Wxcellence Playa Mujeres.
There are LOAD or resort. Tell us what you are looking for.

Check out the Royal Cancun, or Temptation Resort. Both are on the Cancun strip.

For adults only directly in Cancun:

The Royal Cancun is a newly opened resort. It has been getting lots of complaints regarding overbooking, but it looks like it getting straightened out now. Their beach has been non-exisitant due to erosion. Check carefully.

The Sun Palace has recently renovated in a comtemporialy style. It's getting good reviews. I didn't much care for the location. Too far from the main area where all the bars, shops and restaurants are located.

The Golden Parnassus Resort & Spa is an older hotel and gets mixed reviews.

The newly renovated Temptations Resort was formerly known at the Blue Bay Getaway. It's not for everyone as the theme is really adult oriented. Check carefully, if your interested.

LeBlanc - looks like a very nice hotel, no where near my price range, so can't tell you much about it.

The brand new Excellance Isla Mujeres - The reviews are mixed. The resort just opened, so they are still having growing pains. It's looks beautiful, but I'm not paying that kind of money until all the kinks have been worked out.

Grand Oasis Playa - It's part of the Oasis chain, which their hotels rarely get good reviews. The chain just spent a lot of money renovating many of the hotels. We are booked for the Oasis Viva in a few days. The Grand Oasis Playa is going to be more budget friendly then the other hotels listed.

There are more variety of adult only hotels in the Playa del Carmen/Riviera area about an hour outside of Cancun. We really enjoyed the Royal Playa del Carmen. Great hotle in a great and convenient location.

If you'll be more specific with what you are looking for and your budget, you'll get more responses.

We recently stayed at LeBlanc and loved it! It was excellent in every way and one of the best AIs I have stayed in anywhere.

We visited quite a few AI resorts while there. Personally, the RIUs were my least favorite in terms of ambiance, cleanliness and amenities.

The Iberostar Grand is gorgeous and we are headed there next weekend for a few days followed by a few days at LeBlanc. We look for upscale luxury, a great beach (hard to find in this area these days), nice variety of restaurants (prefer no reservations), a dress code and a price point that deters hearty party types.

We are booked at Secrets Maroma next spring and really looking forward to the fabulous beach and a new resort.

Sun Palace was a very nice property as well.

We did not care for El Dorado Royale, although it is popular with many. The quality was lacking overall (rooms, facilities, service, food and really bad included wine).

We stayed at the Royal in Cancun last December, and I was very impressed. I was so sad to leave. The room was perfect, food very good, and most importantly, they made you feel like a guest not just someone to get more money from. The graciousness was pervasive. I would definately go back as would the other guests we spoke with.
