Belize itinerary

We are 50 and 57, active & fun loving, looking to explore and relax. We have 10 days (incl travel days)in Belize, we want to spend about 1/2 of it on Caye Caulker and are planning to stay at the Caye Caulker condos. Where else should we go? Definitely want to see Tikal, but what else should we see and where should we stay. We are fairly adventurous but need a warm shower and a decent bed, ac or a good fan would be lovely. You all have been soooo helpful on this site, thanks!

You might be interested in some of the places we stayed. Take a look at our photos and travelogue and let me know if you have questions:

Any feedback on the Cahal Pech Village Resort in San Ignacio and where should we stay in Tikal, at the Tikal Inn or the Jungle Lodge? It looks like the Jungle Lodge has king beds over twins at Tikal Inn.

Our room at Tikal Inn was huge, with 2 double or queen-sized beds (not sure, queens I think). I haven't stayed at Jungle Lodge but found Tikal Inn in 2007 nicer than Jaguar Inn in 2003, though we enjoyed our stay there very much.

We loved both The Trek Stop and Macal River Jungle Camp for different reasons; don't know about Cahal Pech though it's probably a taxi ride up the hill from town on a hot day.

Happy trails - keep us posted!

I'd look at the Cayo district, accessible to Tikal. Other impressive Mayan sites, jungle, waterfalls, river, horse and cave trips. Nice lodges in all price ranges. I prefer the Jungle Lodge in Tikal.
