Beach Palace?

My wife and I (and 2 daughters ages: 14 & 17)want a memorable summer vacation before daughter 31 starts college in fall. I am thinking of booking 12 days all-inclusive at the Beach Palace-Cancun...thinking that hopefully we can move around during the day to some of the other properties, restaurants, etc. Does anyone have experience with these Palace properties and advice on what to do, how to do it, the best and worst of the properties, what not to miss, what the teenage girls will enjoy the most, etc. Any and all responses would be appreciated.

P.S. I'm not going to be hit up too hard to buy a timeshare am I??

SB

We were at the Sun Palace a few years ago anbd visted the Beach Palace. At that time the beach was completely eroded, no sand. There are steps down from the pool area that practically go directly into the ocean. The Cancun Palace had a much nicer beach. The Sun Palace also has a nice beach nut is more adult/couple oriented (we were there with 2 young kids at the time, but few children of any age were there). The moon palace seemed very family friendly but the beach was awful, full of seaweed. You should check out resorts in the PDC area as well.

Thanks. Has anyone else been to the Beach Plaza lately? Is the beach still eroded?

My wife and I were at the Cancun Palace for Thanksgiving week and we loved it there! The beach is the best of the Palace resorts and the activities were suited for all ages. We visited the Beach Palace to check it out. It is quite small and usually has a lot of younger children. The Beach Palace is closer to the Club zone, but your daughters are a little young for that. I would recommend the Cancun Palace. It is centrally located and the staff there are very friendly.
You may want to take the girls to Isla Mujueres to swim with the dolphins. Just be prepared to hear on this forum how terrible the dolphis are treated. We did it and we had a ball. It's up to you.
My wife and I have stayed at both the Beach Palace and the Sun Palace. We spent a lot of time at the Cancun Palace because we found that they seemed more in tune to what we found enjoyable. (Exiting pool life). The Beach Palace seemed to be more geared toward younger children with the Sun Palace geared toward older adults. Yes you will get approached about buying a time share (usually under the guise of a letter slipped under your door inviting you to a welcome talk). They aren't very persuasive like a lot of the locals you will be bothered by outside of the hotel.
