Argentina/Brazil - trip help
Message: We (3 couples in mid thirties) are planning to visit BA and Rio in late February, early March. We are also thinking of visiting Buzios. The possible itinerary is:3 days in BA, 3 days in Rio, and 3 days in Buzios.. I'm looking for suggestions for Hotels, in BA, good, and central area, Ipanema beach area in Rio, and in Buzios, we would like a hotel that is both close to the beach and close to nightlife..We are not really into budget hotels, but reasonably priced, conveniently located properties.
Anyone else with something to share, restaurants, nightlife places, beaches, anything that was fun, please feel free to chime in...

I don't know how many total days you have, but you might be being a tad ambitous here. Remember that you'll lose time traveling to airports, checking in, clearing customs, etc. I've sometimes planned too many places in too few days and found myself spending much too much time in airports. I've been to Rio and BA, and they're wonderful places. You'll have such a good time.

Hi V_sapi, I agree that you are planning too few days for your stay in these three destinations, but I think you may have a chance to know the best of each if you plan ahead.
In Buenos Aires, I could recommend you to check www.letstango.com.ar an interesting website on culture, tango, attractions, restaurants and wine; the main features of our city. You may contact them for help, information and assistance.
In Rio, a city I really like, I'd recommend you to stay closer to Ipanema or Leblon, so that you are pretty well located for the beaches at Barra and not so far from Copacabana, downtown and Pan de Azúcar (a must). Try to visit the Lagoa da Freitas, with its wonderful restaurants and café to eat al fresco. Delightful!
Buzios is nice too. I prefer Sao Fernando's beach, specially for a short stay, it is great both for day & night; there are diving, snorkeling and sailing excursions departing from it and it has nice restaurants on the beach. It is also pretty close to Buzios downtown, where the artisans' market and Rua das Pedras is located.
Have a nice trip and hope I've been helpful for you.
