My family is headed to San Ignacio and Ambergris Caye at the beginning of March 2019. I am seeking advice on hotels in Ambergris Caye that would be family friendly; my girls are 8 and 10 years old. Ideally we would like to stay somewhere beachfront with a pool, not all-inclusive, under $400/night (and less is better). We would prefer to stay in the Southern area and it would be a huge plus if the hotel provided bikes, kayaks and paddle boards.

I'm also happy for any unsolicited advice regarding San Ignacio jungle-type hotels on the river

We stayed at Chaa Creek and Victoria House and loved both. I don't know what their current rates are, but I'm sure they've gone up since we were there. Both were amazing spots.
