Ambergris Caye Hotel help

My husband and I went to Ambergris Caye about a year and a half ago and stayed at Victoria House. We loved it. We're planning a last minute trip to Ambergris next month, but V.H. doesn't have much available. What would be another choice? Banyan Bay I know gets high praise, but is it more kid-oriented? We also like being close to town as we went into town every night last time to restaurants, bars, etc.
Thanks, in advance, for any help.

Nothing else on the island south of town like VH. BB is all two bdrm condos. Ramons? Xanadu? Plenty smaller upscale inns on the islands northern side.

My husband and I stayed at Ramone's Village 4 years ago and loved it. The people there were so friendly and we had no problem staking a claim to a hammock every day.

Check out The Palms. Near airport. I've stayed at Banana Beach several times and really enjoyed it. Get a 3rd floor corner room. They have bicycles you can use or just rent a golf cart for the length of your trip. That's what I do

We stayed at Banyan Bay last year and enjoyed it. It was just my husband & myself, we don't have kids and enjoyed the condo. It was 2 bedrooms, but we liked having a fridge and kitchen and we had a top floor w/balcony overlooking the beach which was great. We had our drinks on the balcony in the evenings enjoying the sounds of the ocean.

It doesn't have a very large beach, very narrow, but enough to get the feel.

Good luck and have a great trip!
