Alcapulco - inexpensive hotel that doesn't cater to kids

We're looking for a budget to moderate price hotel in Alcapulco, hopefully with ocean view, but with no or few kids around. Up to $80 or so a night. Any suggestions? Thanks.

When do you plan to be in Acapulco?

I don't think there are too many posters on this forum with Acapulco experience. Ask me that question for Puerto Vallarta and I'll give you my list -lol!

For something altogether different, try the older "Los Flamingos" hotel. It is in the older section of Acapulco and was where the previous Hollywood generation stayed - John Wayne, Johnny Weismuller, et al. View of the ocean is magnificent, and their "coco Loco" is to die for - you actually will if you have one too many. It is close to the Quebrada - where the cliff diver show is every afternoon. Also close to the house where Diego Rivera lived, with lovely murals on the ouside - hire a driver to take you to see this. To quote the locals - if you just want to dip in and out of the glitz, maintain some privacy and lie in a hammock with a good book and a great view, then Los Flamingos provides an idyllic escape; by the time the Coco-Loco kicks in, you won't be moving far.
Check it out at: http://www.hotellosflamingos.com/index.html
Spring for a "Junior Suite"!

US$80 or so per night is tough to find in Acapulco during the high season, when you'll be there.

You could also try the Lonely Planet Thorntree for suggestions. I find it's maybe better for Mexico suggestions - more independent travellers - so someone might have some ideas.
