Akumal suggestions?
Hello! My husband and I, along with another couple, are planning a Mexico vacation late February/early March. We haven't been on a trip like this before, but it seems that Akumal is a good fit for us.
We're looking for a beautiful, laid-back location with some nearby activities and restaurants, but away from the hustle and bustle of spring break. We're all in our late 20s, and while nightlife isn't necessary, we would like to be able to enjoy a few margaritas!
We're thinking a condo or small villa would be perfect - somewhere where each couple can have privacy, but with common space to hang out and cook a bit. Would like to keep the budget around/under $300 per night.
Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated! Does Akumal sound like the right destination for us?

Akumal is laid back with beautiful beaches. For great info on the area and places to stay, go to:

We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo on Half Moon Bay a few years ago and it was wonderful. Very reasonably priced too. Only a 10-15 minute walk to the main beach/town of Akumal. I used locogringo.com to make all the arrangements and we had no problems. Half-Moon Bay is very kick-backed but there are couple of restuarants with bars within a few minutes walk.
