Advice on hotel stay for honeymoon.
I am heading out for a 7-8 night honeymoon to Costa Rica in late June. We are staying 5 nights at Villa Caletas near Jaco.
We need another place to stay at for 2-3 nights somewhere within a reasonable distance from Villa Caletas (to minimize driving on the 6th day) and within as reasonable a distance from San Jose airport (to minimize travel time from this hotel on our last day).
Some possibilities I've considered is Hotel Grano De Oro in San Jose (mostly because of rave reviews of it I've read) and Xandari because it's close to the airport and to Villa Caletas.
I want a place that's somewhat different from the Villa Caletas/Manuel Antonio area where we'll be spending 5 days. I want waterfalls, perhaps some rafting and/or volcano.
Where can we spend a fun 2-3 days within the above parameters (driving distances being the most important? A drive from Villa Caletas to the suggested hotel can be a bit longer if scenic and worth the drive but it has to be pretty close to the airport to avoid being late for the flight back

We stayed at the Peace Lodge, and it was great. The staff were amazing, the room (get a deluxe room for the bathroom alone-it is to die for!!)was gorgeous, the waterfalls were beautiful, the hummingbirds were amazing, the butterfly garden was incredible, and the food was really really good. Go see the Poas Volcano while there too. Don't miss out.

Xandari is lovely and I think you would really enjoy it for 2 or 3 nights. It is easy to drive to Poas Volcano and La Paz from there. If you want to take a rafting trip, I believe the tour company would pick you up from Xandari. If you decide to stay at Xandari, make sure to check out their spa. We did not get any treatments from them but the facility looked really beautiful.
Another option would be Vista del Valle (about 30-40 mins from the airport and and on the way from Jaco). It is a bit more secluded and low key than Xandari but also very pleasant.
I have also read rave reviews of Finca Rosa Blanca.
