AI on Isla Mujeres
I'm trying to plan a small wedding (30 people) and looking at Isla Mujeres as a possibility.
1. Need an All-Inclusive hotel on beach (not necessary to have wedding party there).
2. Any recommendations for a restaurant on beach for wedding party (ceremony will be in church).

There may be an Avalon resort there that is an Al, but not sure...
I think the reason many people like Isla is for it's lack of big resort, Al type places.
Someone here with more knowledge will surely let you know.

We just returned from a wedding on Isla (check out my trip report). I believe the Avalon Reef Club was the only AI on the island. It is a great location, and it seems you could have the reception there. The building itself is a bit of an eyesore (doesn't really fit in with the rustic charm of the island), but perfect spot for watching the sunset!

The Avalon, but it has several "issues."
The service and food are constantly getting VERY bad reviews.
The resort allows day-trippers from Cancun to use the facilities, and they overrun the place and take up all of the chairs and mean long lines for drinks/food.
Kristy is also correct - it's not a pretty place.
I would never stay at an AI on IM. Far too many close-by excellent places to eat and too many other nicer places to stay (and less expensive) than Avalon.
