Thanks Susan 7! Hope you have a great time!

seeksocean - It really depends on what type of books you like. I tend to prefer heavier fare when it comes to reading material. I think I liked Bad Times in Buenos Aires quite a bit. Many people recommended Kiss and Tangoalthough it wasn't one of my favorites at all.

good to see you again, Magellan! I haven't reread the whole thread and can't remember what I wrote, so I'll just summarize a few key points for those who are going soon:

-I loved the ice cream in BA; fantastic and unusual flavors, to rival the gelato in Italy.
-my favorite area was Soho/Palermo? so trendy and hip and cool.
-Colonia was a wonderful day trip; it would have been a peaceful overnighter as well.
-every morning I had cafe con leche served with little cookies, a fun morning tradition.
-I had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant of the grand 5 star hotel in Recoleta; a grand dame of a place. sorry I don't remember the name.
-I'm still enjoying and wearing the clothes I bought from the boutiques in Soho.

Hi ncounty! Nice to hear from you! I totally forgot about the cafe con leche with the little cookies - I loved that for breakfast too.

I totally agree with you on the day trip to Colonia - I think that was one of my favorites of the entire trip.

I remember really enjoying the street market on Sunday too.

ncounty: about "the restaurant of the grand 5 star hotel in Recoleta", it sounds like you must mean the Alvear Palace Hotel's "La Bourgogne" restaurant?

yes, avrooster, it was Alvear Palace! I don't remember the name of the restaurant but that sounds right.

The gourmet restaurant downstairs is called "La Bourgogne".

That should be the one you mean.
