zurich to lucerne

Can anyone tell me how far the airport to the train station is in Zurich? We arrive in Zurich at 8pm on the 25th July and need to know if there are trains to Lucerne till late in the evening. Any help with 3/4 star hotels in Lucerne would also help.
Thanks
Anna

Use sbb.ch, press "e" for English and put in your destinations. You'll find catching a train from Zürich airport to Lucerne is very easy.

Hi pachet,

The train station is in the basement of the airport. I usually get there within the hour of arriving. Use "Zurich airport" as your departure on the site schuler gave you.

Just fyi, here's a link to a map of the airport -- note the train tracks on the bottom level. If you're coming from the US, you'll arrive at Terminals E.

As for hotels, I enjoyed the 4-star Hotel Des Balances when I was there. It's right on the river across the street from the Jesuit Church. I've also heard good things about the 3-star Hotel Des Alpes, which is right next door. Also the 4-star Romantik Hotel Wilden Mann in the old town is supposed to be good.

Have fun!

Sorry, that's "Gates E," not "Terminals E."

Another vote for the Des Balances...great location and great breakfast. Rooms with balconies overlooking the river are especially nice. Wherever you stay, be sure to feed the swans
