Thanks for the Hotel Helmhaus referral, but they are $250 a night US! That's $50 more than the Marriott, and more than we can spend for that night... Heck, it seems like the Marriott is the easiest solution. It's only 1 night, so it's not crucial that it be perfect! We'll be living out of suitcases at that point anyway.

Maybe we'll try Priceline after all. I don't know where that Sofitel is, but even if it's not in the best location as you say, $75 is so CHEAP!

We stayed there for one night in a similar situation and found it just perfect for our needs - rooms are no smaller (and maybe even a bit larger) than other similar class hotels in Zurich, location is good and while it may be something of a "cookie cutter" chain experience, that meant no surprises in a decent, clean accommodation with efficient and friendly staff - may be just what you want for your brief "recovery" period.
