Zagreb, Croatia Hotel Recommendations

We (2 adults, 2 kids age 10) will be in Zagreb for two nights in August. Does anyone have hotel or lodging recommendations?

Thanks,
Christine

Christine,

We stayed at Palace Hotel a couple of weeks ago. It is an easy walk from the train station and also an easy walk to the main square, the large pedestrian zone (tons of cafes!). We walked everywhere, never needed the trams.

The building is lovely, they have a website. We stayed on a Friday & Saturday night so recieved a discount on the room rate. I believe it is usually 1100 kn per night (about $170 -180 USD), but we paid $130 USD. This incuded a breakfast of eggs, ham, breads, cereal, yogurt, etc.

Our room was a double bed with private bath. We chose a non smoking room, and it faced the interior, no special view. There were other rooms facing the park that may have been just as nice to stay in.

This is just to give you an idea of what is there, having the kids along may be a bigger factor in deciding for you. We did see a family at breakfast, they had 3 children with them.

I would recommend Hotel Esplanade or Hotel Dubrovnik

Both are beautiful and are in great locations!

We stayed at the Hotel Jadran last October. The location is excellent, on the edge of the old town, it was quite reasonable at about E80 a night double, but was a little run down. But not bad for a short visit and the location near the main square can't be beat.

Thanks for these suggestions. We are once again having trouble finding a quad room on the internet...Most hotel search engines don't even give you the choice of a quad. We are hoping to avoid booking two rooms...
