Bonjour Humanone,
I can't give you an opinion on the hotels themselves (I live nearby so obviously don't stay in hotels), but the Pré de la Cure is just outside (across the street) from the city itself, the Vieux Logis inside the walls. The Pré de la Cure is reputed for its food but quite expensive, as all restaurants in Yvoire, compared to nearby villages.
Good and typical local food (fresh fish from the lake) in the area include Restaurant Bellevue in Excenevex (5 min car from Yvoire), Chez Jules/Les Cygnes in Sechex (great terrasse - 1/2 h by boat from Yvoire or 10 min by car), and many more.

Bonjour Humanone,
I know the place well, and can assure you that both hotels should be extremely quiet since they're away from the main road, and Yvoire is a pedestrian area anyway (free parking nearby). For the quaintness and charm of staying inside a medieval village, I'd pick Vieux Logis. Given its location, Pré de la Cure might have a better view of the lake and the whole of the village.

Hi. As one who day-tripped into Yvoire while staying in Rivaz, I've got to compliment you on deciding to spend the night there. I've no doubt that the magic of Yvoire will be maximized by being there in the early morning and late afternoon after 'we' have left you in peace. J. p.s. If you like gardens, spend time in the Garden of the Five Senses. Lovely and very interesting. (So interesting that I missed the last boat and had to taxi to Geneva to catch a train.)
