I've checked in on this thread a couple of times, and it continues to provide new insight. It seems to me that whatever place inspires a sense of awe, a sense of discovery, then that place will never be boring and will never fall into the been there/done that category. Paris is that place of discovery for me, as is the rest of France. I feel like a little kid with eyes wide open, laughing at my good fortune to be visiting again. There are other places I've loved visiting, but don't compell me to return with quite as much regularity (Italy is one).

In Spain it was called The Franco File.
I have been to Paris once every decade for the past 40 years. With so much time in-between, it seems like a realtively new experience each visit, as we try to stay in different areas as well. And I still have not been to the Eiffel Tower, intentionally.
I live in Manhattan and never tire of walking the city.
