Damnit, topcat, did you have to give me that web address? I am drooling onto my keyboard as I look at this page. Do you have any idea how much money you are costing me, not to mention how much weight I shall gain, all on YOUR account!! This is unforgivable.

Now if you'll excuse me, I must get my order in. Those truffles and crusty mokkas don't have long for this world. ;-)

P_M, those lovely liqueur-filled chocolates are made by Lindt and are available in most European countries. I always return to the US with a stack of them to hand out as little gifts to family and friends. I just pop the whole pillow into my mouth, bypassing your shot glass strategy. Some of the fillings are Pear Williams, Cognac, Irish Whiskey, Cointreau, etc. I can find them in the US once in a while, but they're much more expensive here.

It seems the real capital of chocolate in France is Bayonne - an interesting article: Dark secret, http://shopping.guardian.co.uk/trave...492827,00.html.

My favorite is from Richart,Paris.

I just tried Neuhaus Chocolates Belgian) in Seattle and not only were they outstanding, the clerk in the store gave us samples, and then she kept giving us more samples, and she gave us samples to take with us! I've never seen that at Godiva and these were much better.

The Best-All Time Best Chocolate in all the World? A tough pick, but I've travelled around the world for the better part of 45 years and have always had a great fondess for Good chocolate. After extensive and lengthy testing and sampling,I would Have to give the laurel to the little Dutch shop of Puccini's in Amsterdam. Their chocolate is unrivalled by the best of Europe's. Belgium,I have to admit, has Many fine chocolates available-Callebaut's not being the least of them, but I gaurantee that anything you purchase from Puccini's will Not make it home. Their chocolate is irresistable-if you Lived nearby them in A'dam, you would quickly weigh a frightening amount! As for American chocolate...do they Make chocolate in America? If so,I would like to sample some,as I have yet to actually Find any real chocolate there!

We just returned from Poland, Prague, Vienna and Venice. I am completely BUSTED by my doctor who gave me a failing grade in the cholesterol test!!!! I don't touch chocolate at home as US commercial chocolate gives me canker sores, but NOTHING bothered me about the chocolate in any of the aforementioned countries!
They could all have a contest and it would be a draw! By the way, the Imperial torte and Sacher tortes of the famous Viennese hotels can be shipped to you direct! OINK!!! WWW.imperial-torte.at and www.sacher.com. Not cheap, but who cares!??!!
