a cocktail party at Harry's Bar in Venice. Who will show up? What will they be wearing? Where will they be staying? What is the topic of conversation?

Two of the road managers from ABBA will be there along with Elvis Costello's ex-bodyguard. All three will be wearing ascots and drinking whiskey sours. Pretend not to notice that one of them has a nervous twitch and has a slight hunchback.

When will this party be held?
I'll be there.
So as to fit in, I will wear my ultra short skirt, pointy-toed high heels, and linen blouse.
Where will I stay? Certainly not near the smelly water.
I will be drinking like a fish. And, I will drink whatever someone else buys for me.
I will talk to thingorjus about his time in the fashion industry. I will talk to Calamari about living in England. I will talk to BookChick about my wonderful stay in Rome. I will talk to Degas about his fascinating trips. Of course I will mingle, mingle, mingle and make sure that I converse with everyone who shows up.
My conversational skills will of course become greatly enhanced as the party continues and the liquor flows.

I'll try NOT TRIPPING this time as I enter the the bar...as the evening progresses we'll have to move the party outdoors....Harry's is much too small to hold this group!! As the crowd gathers...................

I hope I don't have to totally dress up for this cocktail party....is it ok if I wear cotton knit? Can I bring a gondolier friend? Moreno loves a good party.
I will also be having a bellini and raving about everything I've eaten that day.

This is why we I will have a team of gondoulas waiting to whisk us away to the grand ball room at the Cipriani. Bellinis will flow like water. The party will go on until we just can't take anymore talk of travel. Degas will be the master of ceremonies, Maitaitom will be the bartender, LVSue will be the beautiful contessa, Dutch will be the D.J., Thingorjus will be the dancing queen ala ABBA, Baily will be straight tripp'n, MelissaH will be in St. John Knit and Jody and I will setting Thingorg up with a fat&ugly American wearing a tee shirt of course. Don't tell me Ira and Intrepid are not coming!

If I am to be in the good company of such a dazzling array of superstars, then tradition must be broken.
I plan to stop off in Milan and buy a pair of, hold your hats, LONG pants with a real leather belt and a new shirt without a "Dockers" logo.
