Would you stay at this Swiss hotel?

Follow the link and look closely at the right-hand side of the photo. Yep, that's the hotel.

It's a 170 year-old house built right against the side of the Ebenalp mountain in Switzerland. In fact, the back wall of several rooms *is* the side of the mountain. For 70 SF a night you get a dorm bed, breakfast, and dinner. Oh, and there are no showers, no internet access, and no whining. But there is an abundance of views, hiking, goats, rabbits, and dogs.

I love rustic spots, but this may be a little too rustic. What about you?

Mountain hiking is very popular in Switzerland, and the mountains are full of very spartan dwellings. This one looks a little plush; you don't have to bring your own food. I think most "tourists", however, are not fit enough to sample those adventures; I know I'm not.

How do you bathe if there aren't showers? Is there a lake nearby? ;-)

I could see staying here if I were traveling with someone else, but I find rural areas somewhat boring when traveling alone.

You lost me at the "no showers" line.

I think it looks like one of those great "once in a lifetime" experiences.

It's actually 35 SF for the bed, and the rest for breakfast and dinner. Book now!
