Well, Saariselkä, Ruka and Levi (and Ylläs) are full service villages, with hotels and log cabins and skiing- and skiidoo tracks, and downhill slopes. Plus restaurants, shops, full-service spas with pools and saunas and hamams and masseurs. And all offer all kinds of nature trips including dog- and reindeer sledges. But even with all that the biggest thing is always nature which is always near. Check the Ruka and Saariselkä pages above. I spent the Christmas year before last in Ruka. We had a big four bedroom log cabin, which was good. A big living room with a fireplace (well, almost all cabins allways have a fireplace), and a sauna. And drying room for snowy clothes.

And while Denmark is a lovely country, white Christmnas is not something you find there.

Donīt worry about Russians, they are ordinary families (well-to-do folks) with children, not vodka gulping 20 somethings.
