Wineries from Barcelona by Train?

Hi
Weīre trying to get to one of (any of) the wineries outside Barcelona by train. We canīt find one that has a station nearby though. Does anyone have a recommendation? We were planning to go to the winery and Sitges for a day trip, but didnīt want to go with a big tour group. Thanks!!

By train?

When we visited some wineries just south of Barcelona (including, Torres - one of the largest producer in the region), they doid not seem to be anywhere near the towns. In other words, you may have to drive to get to them.

BTW, Priorat region reds (also in the south of Barcelona) are some of the finest that the country has been producing lately.

Hi LM
I do believe you can take the train from Barcelona to Sant Sadurni d'anoia where the fabulous cava (champagne method wine" is made. It is not far outside of Barcelona and the Freixenet cellars are right beside the train station.
Hope this helps

Keldar- thanks for your help. You wouldnīt happen to know the name of the train station, would you? I looked on renfe.com for a station corresponding to that town but didnīt see anything. Thanks!!

Does anyone know which wineries may be open around New Year's that are accessible by train or tour? It appears from their website that Freixenet will be closed. Thank you.
