Scarlett, thanks for asking

12 - 22 Sept ~ Italy (Rome w/a daytrip to Florence and an overnight in Naples)

? October ~ NYC (shopping)

26 Dec - 3 Jan ~ Not sure yet, perhaps Hong Kong. I'm leaning towards waiting for the last second, then purchasing a pkg deal.

Feb/Mar ~ Somewhere warm

? '04 - Brazil, but if I can't get a traveling companion, I'll go to Spain instead

Hi!
We leave next week, Sept. 4, for Paris, Swiss Alps and Varenna on Lake Como. We'll be celebrating our 40th anniversary - can hardly believe it! That sounds like it's for old folks!

We're staying 4 nights in Paris, and 3 each in Lauterbrunnen and Varenna. Wish we had more time, but thankful we're getting to take such a wonderful trip.

I too have a husband in somewhat fragile health so we are going to spend two weeks in a Paris apt and do a few day trips to such places as Auxerre, Moulins, Bar-le-Duc and drink lots of red wine, eat wonderful cheese and crunchy baguettes.

My husband and I were in Paris last Sept and in Mexico in Feb. He can't get away this Sept, so my mother and I are going to London for 6 nights, then Eurostar to Paris for 5 nights. We have tickets for Mamma Mia and will probably get them for another show and also have tickets to the State Rooms and Queens Gallery at Buckingham Palace. I'm still working on just what we will see in Paris. Can't wait!

Hi Scarlett,
My DH and I are leaving in two weeks for Paris. I haven't been in 10 years and he's NEVER been, even though he worked for an airline for several years and was married to a flight attendant for many more. I'm looking forward to showing him romantic Paris.

Hi Hagan! You'll be in the air the same time as us. We leave next Thursday so on Friday the 5th of September I'll be saying TGIF with an Italian accent!!! Most exotic Friday I'll have had in a long time. I'd love to hear about Lake Como when you get back. We had originally planned on going there instead of doing the Rome/Sorrento/Umbria combo. However, I did so much research that I got bored with that destination and changed paths. Is that goofy or what? I still want to see Como; maybe next trip.

Went to Lyon last October, Madrid this April and our favourite Greek island in July. Going to Palma de Mallorca in October and Malaysia (KL and Borneo to see the orangutans) next April. May go somewhere for a week between Christmas and New Year if we can get a last minute package deal cheap enough, but I'm not too hopeful about that.

DH and I leave on Sept 24th to spend 8 days in Rome and Tuscany. I can't wait!

Our next big trip - 10 days in England in May of 2004. The kicker is that we'll be bringing the kids - ages 2 and 4 (5 and almost 3 by the time we travel). I'm already researching all the things to do in England with kids!

Other than these, a weekend in Austin to visit friends and go to a football game, another long weekend in San Antonio at the Hyatt Hill Country with the kids, and hopefully we'll find the time to make it up to NYC to see some other friends.

Oh, and while I'm thinking about it, next fall I want to go to San Francisco or Miami for a long weekend.

And now I need to get back to work so I can pay for all these trips!

The kids start school tomorrow, but hopefully we will get away to Utah or the Hamptons over Thanksgiving break and make it back to Florence to have Christmas with the family.

Next year we will be going to France before Italy. I really want to see more of the US.

September 5 we are going to France. We're going to take the train to Brugge, Belgium, and back to France. On our second week we are taking a barge trip from Gien to Montargis. We think next spring we'll do England and Scotland.

Hi Scarlett:

I leave on 9/18 for my very first trip to Europe!! (23 days from today).

My mom and I are going to London (5 days), Paris (5 days), Venice (3 days), Florence (2 days), and Rome (5 days). We'll be gone 22 days altogether (counting travel days). My mom and I will be together the whole time, but we have plans to meet up with friends in London and (I just learned last night!) Paris.

To say I'm excited about this trip would be a serious understatement!

Hi all!

Just got back from four days in Toronto and am counting down the five weeks until we leave for Italy! Six of us will spend five nights in two apartments in Manarola overlooking the Ligurian Sea (and enjoying the local white wine and sunsets each evening from our balcony - sigh!), day tripping to Pisa and Florence, then on to Roma for a few days.

Come next spring, I'll be off to Paris for a week followed by a week in Florida with the kids and grandkids.

I absolutely love hearing about everyone else's trips - keeps me going between my own!

pcheesy--We're leaving for London in 2 weeks as well! But before that, we're going to go to New York this weekend for the US Open.

Let's see... after that it's off to India in November (for work), Cairo in February (again, for work) Japan/China in April, then hopefully Vietnam or Greece in Summer 2004.

I know I've posted this on other threads, but you asked, Scarlett, so... we are leaving on Sept 20 for 5 days in Paris, stops in Chartres and Tours, a week in the Dordogne and a week in the Languedoc. Can't wait--can't work--spending way too much time here....

Hi Scarlett,

As I watch the pouring rain down here in DC (cool thunderstorms!), I thought about my future travel plans - for the next year. They are not all well defined, and are for a mix of reasons (vacation, family, sports-related travel), but here it is:

- Colorado in 2 weeks for 6 days
- North Carolina for a weekend in late Sept
- Memphis for 5 days in November
- NH for Christmas
- somewhere in January (planned vacation time but haven't decided to where yet)
- Bermuda for a long weekend (April?)
- Costa Rica in July

I work full time, but try to vacation/travel as much as I can - factoring in work load and money issues!
