Hey your forum question is really addictive. Just look at the answers here . Hope mine gets recognition too in the future. Anyways, back to your question, I lived in London for 2 years - I was a student, so it was like a permanent accommodation and it was cheap too. But for tourists, i do not think they will let out these apartments, anyways i will ask around and let you know. As a tourist, i traveled to Italy and the best region to visit there in Tuscany. Scenic locales, food and some of the best wines you can get. I got help from some of the tour agents and they helped us finding the best apartments. You can check these sites out 1. http://www.traveltuscany.net/ for private accommodations, tours etc and http://www.tuscany-cooking-class.com/ for cooking classes, wine tours etc. They were of great help for us and we got some deals as well. I know the concerned person very well, so even if you want to contact her directly, i can give the number and mail id. Do let me know! Cheers and have a great trip.

I am getting a bit suspicious too. I remember traveling with children at that age, and I would not even do half of this with little ones.
It also seems so over the place and as it is getting really close to departure (june), a lot of the basics have not been booked.

I hope it is not a troll..... if this is for real, then Claire you have a really big job ahead of you making sure the kids are happy and safe.

OMG!!! Guys I swear I am not a TROLL!!!! 3 months ago I had no idea of what I was doing and planned a full on few days here few days there trip and you all convinced me to slow down and relook at it .. which I did and changed! AND I AM SOOOOO THANKFUL FOR YOUR HELP

Remember that it was only last month that we had the huge change where my husband wasnot able to come on the first half of the trip and my mother was coming with me instead. With her coming it meant that I had to fit in with what she wanted to see as she is paying half. This is also the reason why my budget improved!

I am truly sorry to those that feel I have taken advantage of the situation and time and advice. I figured if they didn't have the time or didn't want to look or offer advice then they wouldn't.

I also assumed by posting the links it would help others who were doing the same thing as me.

Please remember dates have changed and apartments that were not available are now.

In regards to Venice . . .my husband stands true to not wanting to see it again . . somewhere along the past threads I was criticised for NOT considering it. My mother has not seen it so I thought we should go. The length of stay is also because so many of you have told me to look at travelling a week at a time!

For those who are with me . . my apartment for london is sorted, my apartment for Paris is sorted and I have also booked in my stay at Lucca for 4 days!

I know this trip seems to be a nightmare . .try and imagine the time and energy I have had to put in with swapping and changing things because of my family situation. It hasn't been easy and I felt as though having most of your support and advice certainly made it easier then what it would of been with out it.

It saddens me to think so many of you are upset with me and I guess I will no longer post until we are on our trip and it is a live report to share with you our travels.

I thank those who have helped and those whom I have upset I am sorry.

Do not worry. It is like when you have more than 1000 facebook friends or so, people will tend to think they are not real and trying to play around. Since your questions attracted a lot of people, the normal forum man may think you are just playing around. So, do not worry.. It happens all in the game... Hope you took my suggestion which is two replies in front of this comment ..

Thanks Jen! I was really upset but I figure I can see where everyone comes from! Thanks for your links I will look into it! I have booked in Lucca and I think we are going to stay in siena so that is my next booking I am looking into.

I really have appreciated all the advice given! My trip has been chopped and changed due to advice given and I really do feel like it is going to be a wonderful trip! I actually can't wait!

The luggage will be interesting! Fingers crossed my kids allow me to pack light! I must admit they have stressed me out about Venice!

Anyway thank you for your positive comment you have made me feel a little better!

Claire, i may be correct in thinking that the tough love approach has worked. Good for you, for knuckling down and booking some more places. I knew you could do it, you just needed a kick up the backside

Now... And keep in mind that we have other commitments on our time..... What other towns do you still have to book?

<< I doubt ANYONE is "still along for the ride" on this CRAZY (not interesting) trip >>

I check in from time to time to see what insanity has developed but don't offer any more suggestions as the OP isn't listening.

thanks Jey!

Since Lucca isn't too far from Siena we have decided to stay in Lucca for longer...we plan on having a car for this part of our trip and will go to Siena for a day trip rather then unpacking and packing again . . .we got a great price!

San Gimignano is lovely too and an easy drive from Siena.

Keep in mind that in these hill towns you park outside the walls and walk in so make sure you have a stroller for both kids. The 4 year old will probably be tired after a while.

Note that crazy says she has booked but doesn't say where. Wouldn't be surprised if familyof5 is just a new version of familyof4. Am only along for the TR.

Yes, that coincidence struck me as odd too. A first time poster from the same country with a similar name and similar trip...

now for those that do want to help I am up to booking a place while in Milan . . . now before anyone pipes up and says I thought you weren't going to Milan . .remember my trip has changed and we are not DRIVING to prague but now FLYING from Milan and therefor we are spending a couple of nights there. So . . I am not sure of Milan locations . .the hotels we are looking at are in different areas so we are hoping someone who has been can tell us which area is best.

OK here goes:

1)
http://www.booking.com/hotel/it/nikk...8f1916ea3ed3X4

2)
http://www.booking.com/hotel/it/hote...cf634af327a4X3

3)
http://www.booking.com/hotel/it/mila...cf634af327a4X7

Now of course if someone else has somewhere they stayed and think I should consider please suggest away but if you are only going to be negative please keep it to yourself.
