I hang out there a lot, mostly to answer what questions I can about Italy. The expats in Italy board from Slowtrav has recently been spun off into its own site, for people living in Italy, or wanting to.

I'm another crossover, although I probably spend more time here than there. I agree with Bob that Pauline and her staff really work hard at keeping that site going well. It's a wealth of info, especially for Italy trip planning.

I love slowtrav! I even won a nice little watercolor painting of a scene in Rome in their recent contest. I post trip reports there and am trying to help Pauline and the rest get the France section revved up. I agree the site has improved enormously in the past year thanks to diligent efforts by both staff and contributors.

Hi flygirl - SlowTrav seems an interesting site for Italy. I used it to get information on my destination in Tuscany and to find hotels for stopovers in Florence. I'm just now trying to confirm the Florence reservations made thru that site. I'm hoping it will go well. And I hope to post a trip report there. But I still come to Fodor's for the laughs and for the quirky specifics that members can provide.

Count me in as a crossover and addict to slowtrav. I also was fortunate to win 2 prizes in their anniversary contest. A gourmet walking tour in Bologna and a cooking lesson outside of Assisi. Can't wait to use them next year! A wonderful, well run site.
