who else here uses slowtrav?
just checking if we have any crossovers!
I've gone to a lot of links that have led me to slowtrav. Lots of great info on that website. ((b))
Definitely a crossover. It's a great site, second only to Fodors, of course. Met the founders of the site at a picnic in Tuscany a few years ago.
I've used slowtrav too. My journal from my latest trip is posted on that web site.

Great resource. For example I printed out all the road signs for my travel notebook.
Yep, Count me in! It is a great resource, especially for Italy!
Me,too. Love slowtrav. Used it to book a house near San Gim. Also have a trip report there under "lovetotravel". Great site.
I hang out there a lot, mostly to answer what questions I can about Italy. The expats in Italy board from Slowtrav has recently been spun off into its own site, for people living in Italy, or wanting to.

I like it. I jsut wish it was more active on other countries besides Italy.
Cheers, Jan |
I agree with SloJan. I used that site a lot when planning a trip to Italy but don't find it as great a resource for other countries, although the France board seems to be getting more active.
I do.
I am there everyday. It has really come a long way in the past year. Pauline and her moderators deserve a ton of credit.
I'm another crossover, although I probably spend more time here than there. I agree with Bob that Pauline and her staff really work hard at keeping that site going well. It's a wealth of info, especially for Italy trip planning.
I love slowtrav! I even won a nice little watercolor painting of a scene in Rome in their recent contest. I post trip reports there and am trying to help Pauline and the rest get the France section revved up. I agree the site has improved enormously in the past year thanks to diligent efforts by both staff and contributors.
I love the site and am there everyday. I've posted two trip reports there and was also fortunate enough to win a week's discount on a villa in Tuscany. Very well run and informative site.
me too - me too - me too
Slow trav is great. discovered it before I found fodors. I especially like the section on trains in italy (perhaps because we will be leaving for Italy very soon). I highly recommend slowtrav.
Hi flygirl - SlowTrav seems an interesting site for Italy. I used it to get information on my destination in Tuscany and to find hotels for stopovers in Florence. I'm just now trying to confirm the Florence reservations made thru that site. I'm hoping it will go well. And I hope to post a trip report there. But I still come to Fodor's for the laughs and for the quirky specifics that members can provide.
I enjoy it and have posted a review or 2 there--the Italy information is super and glad to hear France is revving up--we love Italy but France is the major interest--I really enjoy the reviews there.
Count me in as a crossover and addict to slowtrav. I also was fortunate to win 2 prizes in their anniversary contest. A gourmet walking tour in Bologna and a cooking lesson outside of Assisi. Can't wait to use them next year! A wonderful, well run site.
