Do they serve beignets in Europe? I have only seen them in New Orleans.

Is that a beignet in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me?

muffin eater, what have you done with muffin? Where is she? Previously you ONLY appeared on threads posted by muffin, but now you are striking out on your own. Is this one of those Three Faces of Eve deals?

Kylie Minogue wore a particularly nice one in the video of 'can't get you out of my head'. Perhaps you can find out who made it? Although, with that cleavage you will probably get more powdered sugar on your skin than on your jumpsuit.

Pick up the beignets and then "rush back" to the hotel and eat them, and the sugar, in bed, preferably with someone you are fond of; a lot cheaper than a jumpsuite (and perhaps actually the very same thing).

Just read the latest about the motion tabled today in the European Parliament, to limit export of the French beignet.

The motion was jointly sponsored by some Euro-constitutional-fanatics (mostly Belgians) and the multi-state coalition of the Greens.

The motive of the Euro fanatics was clearly retributive, to punish the French for their recent vote.

The motive of the Greens was a little less clear.

But today, Ermentrud Schloppel of the (German) Greens, interviewed in English on CNN, said that "Trans-fats opportunists" in France "must not go uncheckered" (sic)

Get 'em while they're red hot -- you may not have much longer to enjoy 'em, other than on the backstreets of Paris.

Maybe we can talk the European Parliament into Krispy Kremes?

While the Krispy Kreme empire continues to grow in Europe, people on the street mantain denial of its existance.

That's good enough for me. After the popularity of both cigarettes and doughnuts have peaked, the U.S. exports such atrocities to nations seeking the dregs of Americana.

Popularity is the hallmark of mediocrity.

"While the Krispy Kreme empire continues to grow in Europe, people on the street mantain denial of its existence."

That's why they have been nick-named "Denial Doughnuts" in the EU, in a sharp comeback to the "Freedom Fries" gambit

Good call, feh.

Muffy, depending on your location, you might also opt for a lesser cost solution, since this garment will likely see limited usage. If it sees continued usage, you will be purchasing larger sized replacements of the same garment as you consume greater quantities of the square doughnuts.

Was somebody recently watching the trav chan and caught the doughnut episode which prompted this thread???

Methinks muffin eater hath another nom de plume, mayhap several. Here in merry old England we fold our crepes like so, then fill them with jam, dust them with powdered suger, and eat them in the altogether. Afterward, we jump into the Thames, avoiding all need for jumpsuits, jumpsuites, or clothing of any sort. Perhaps jumping into the Thames with a sweet crepe is really the "jumpsweet" muffin eater was thinking of.
