White flowers in Taormina?

All over Taormina there was the most wonderful white flower bushes. The smell was amazing. My best guess is jasmine. Does anybody know what the flower is?

They are almond trees.<BR>In Sicily there are many and many almond trees. In Agrigento, a town of Sicily, at half February, when in "Italy" it is full winter, there is the holiday of " almond tree in flower" and it means that spring is coming soon!<BR>Spring does not knock, it enters sure!<BR>Best regards.<BR><BR>

It could be "pittosporum tobira, rynchospermum jasminoides or any Citrus" at this time of the year.<BR>No jasmine or honeysuckle yet, and its too late for almond trees.<BR>http://verdetecnica.tripod.com

So many things in Sicily are fragrant and so many different things bloom throughtout much of the year. Among the most fragrant are the orange, lemon and other citrus trees which have incredibly fragrant small white flowers. For a more precise answer, please describe the time of year, the part of sicily, the geographic setting (e.g., mountains in the interior, northeast coast, southern coast, dry and sunny or fertile and green, etc.), size of bush, type of leaves, shape and size of blossoms, etc.

We were in Taormina in October. In trying to get some details for the last poster, I pulled up the Wunderbar website, so I could describe one of the areas I saw the flowers. Wouldn't you know that the Wunderbar website gave me the answer in describing itself.<BR><BR>"Sicilian ice creams and traditional<BR> crushed ice drinks (granite), <BR>are served by elegant salon,<BR> enveloped<BR>and ispired by the soft notes of the<BR>"caf&egrave; concert" and by the perfume of<BR>jasmine".<BR><BR>Thanks for your help. If you had asked the questions I would have thought to look at the Wunderbar website. <BR><BR>So now the next question, any idea of what variety of jasmine or what would be close that I could get in the US?<BR><BR><BR> <BR>
