According to viamichelin.com, Aix-Moustiers-Castellane-Grasse-Nice is 250km with a driving time of 3hr40min (unrealistically low, IMO). Driving the Route des Cretes loop would add quite a bit more time.
The distance and the viamichelin.com time estimate for driving along the south side of the canyon are about the same (again, urealistically low).
