Which street in Paris?

Thanks to all who responded to my earlier request about apartments vs hotels and locations.

We've decided that an apartment is the best choice for us. We're a family that will be traveling with a 3 year old and my mother.

In choosing between these two places, which would you prefer?

44 rue de Montmorency, 75003 Paris OR
6 rue du Roi de Sicile, 75004

The one on Roi de Sicile, IMO. It is much closer to the Seine; only a block or so walk to Notre Dame. If you would give us the links to the apartments, we might be able to give you better advice on factors other than location.

Not sure what you have checked out about the apartments. Are you sure they have elevators? Are they ground floor - and if so what about security? If it's hot you will want to make sure it's safe to open windows (unless they have AC - few apartments do).

I totally agree with nukesafe. I actually lived on Rue Montmorency for 6 months and I think you will really prefer the other location-much more central to the 1 and 4 metro lines-2 of the best lines in Paris IMO. The problem with the Montmorency location is that by comparison you are just a bit too far from the heart of the Marais, and the street itself isn't interesting at all compared to the other (the only good thing is that it has a laundromat on it which is handy!). That said, of course it also depends on the apartments themselves.

They both have a/c and are on the second floor. We're fine with 2 flights of stairs.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I'm going to go ahead with the Roi de Sicile apartment.

Yeah the floor and the fact that they both have a/c is nice-as much for the noise sometimes as to stay cool. Have a great trip!

You do know that the "second" European floor is what we call the third floor in the States?

BTW, why are you being so coy about giving us the links? I am looking for an apartment in Paris for next year, and would be interested in seeing the ad for this one.

Yes, I'm aware of the floor differences. She mentions it being 2 flights of stairs. Either way though, I'm good with that.

LOL - I'm happy to share the info!
They are both from this lady. Her reviews are great on her site.
