Which Madrid Neighborhood

I am currently looking at renting an apartment in Madrid for 5 days. My husband and I are a late middle-aged couple who do not burn the midnight oil anymore so we want to stay away from the nosier areas full of nightlife. Which do you think would be a better fit for us - the area close to the Royal Palace and Opera, or the Latina neighborhood. I have found a couple of apartments in those areas that would be suitable. Thank you!

Latina is full of clubs and bars.
Palace and Opera is quieter .

Totally agree with danon, I'd choose Opera.

You've already gotten your answer but just another big no for the Latina barrio. I stayed in a hostal there on one of my trips to Madrid and even being a younger person myself, the nightlight scene there was a bit crazy. Much more enjoy the ambience in the Palace and Opera areas.
