Which Left Bank hotel?
Still looking for advice on which hotel. Have searched web & now need firsthand opinions -
Hotel d'Orsay
Hotel des Grandes Ecoles
Hotel College de France
Hotel Verneuil
Any others that are in St Germain, charming & reasonable? Seems tricky to find both....

I've stayed at the Verneuil several times..but not lately..I like to try different hotels in that area.
It still remains one of the best! The rooms are smallish, but we had a standard. Nicely furnished , great baths with lots of goodies. And one of the kindest staffs I can imagine. We both happened to get food poisoning and when the maid came and found us unable to leave the room, she alerted the front desk, who came bearing cokes and liquids and were most helpful and solicitous!
Haven't stayed at any of the others but I can say that if you are interested in location, I can't think of any place better. we also love the Millesime and the du Danube.

I think there are few people who haved stayed at all. I wasn't sure from your post if you are aware that the Hotel College de France and Grandes Ecoles are not in St-Germain. If that's where you want to be, you can eliminate them.

I just stayed a couple of nights at the Hotel Verneuil. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff is friendly and approachable. And the hotel is charming. Regular double rooms are tiny but very well-maintained especially the bathrooms: marble, modern, stand-up shower, and a great deep soaking tub.
