Which Istanbul hotel?
I have narrowed my selection to the Empress Zoe, the Dersaadet, and the Uyan.
The Empress Zoe looks lovely, but they only have an expensive suite, the Terrace Suite, available, or the Special Double Room, which is somewhat reasonably priced.
I would not have a problem paying the higher price of the suite, except that it has a very small sea view and the construction at the Four Seasons. That really devalues the room for me. It doesn't seem worthy of the 215 Euro price. The other Special Double has a sea view, but only a double bed in a smallish room- we're accustomed to sleeping in a king bed, so I don't know if the double size bed will work for us.
The Uyan looks great, especially their Deluxe Double rooms which look nicely furnished with a king bed, but people have complained of the unpleasant odors in the bathrooms, and sometimes less than helpful service.
The Dersaadet gets fabulous reviews, but thr rooms are fairly small and plain, and look like they can use some updating.
I am looking for a romantic stay in Istanbul (it's our first trip to Europe together) that has nice decor, clean and modern baths, friendly staff, and a good locations.
Any and all suggestions are very welcome.
