Which bus from S.M. Novella to Ponte Vecchio?
I once again turn to the wisdom of the forum. My wife and I are taking the train from Rome to Florence and staying at the Hotel Pitti Palace just south of Ponte Vecchio. I have a ATAF map from our last visit, but can't figure out which bus would take us from the train station (s.M. Novella to a stand near our hotel. I think D would do it but I am not sure. A stand on the north side of the Arno at Ponte Vecchio would work also, since a short walk over the bridge would be a nice start to our stay in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
Thanks in advance

Why not walk? It really is not that far....I remembered looking at the map and wondering about the distance. We decided to take off at a leisure pace and in less than 15 minutes walk we were right at Ponte Vecchio! Just pack light!

I agree with Viajero2, that is, if you're carrying too much luggage. If lugging your luggage is the problem, why not take a taxi. It's such a short distance, I don't imagine it would cost that much via taxi.
You're in one of my favorite cities Firenze. Enjoy.
Happy travels!

kybourbon, the first map is excellent! Far better than the ATAF maps.
Viajero2, I would prefer to walk, my wife and I both pack light and have walked with our luggage all over London and Paris. However, if we are really tired or it is raining, I wanted a back up plan.
Thanks again, the advice is very helpful.

No, my wife and I travel with one checked bag on wheels and one carry bag which can be put on top of the wheelee bag. We don't have any trouble carrying this on buses or the subway. My wife is a trooper and we have traveled all over Paris, Rome, and Florence this way.
