Where to stay in Stockholm the night before an early flight
Our flight leaving Stockholm is at 6:50 a.m. Any ideas on where would be a good place to stay the night before that is inexpensive and has transportation to the terminal in time for the flight?

Heyyyyy Juuude:

I suppose you get that a lot, so probably not funny anymore.

Anyway, the place to stay is the Good Morning Hotel in Arlanda. Arlanda is the small town right at the airport. Not really a town as such, just an area with a couple of hotels, etc.

The good news is this hotel is one of the most inexpensive in all the Stockholm area . . . and you might know that all of Stockholm, Sweden, and scandinavia is very expensive.

This place is clean, has beautiful blonde gals working the desk, (and driving the minivans), and will take you back and forth to the airport which is 2 kilometers (about 1.2 miles) away.
And, breakfast is included in the price which was about $86 a couple of years ago.

It can't be beat for price and location. It is a good feeling being close to airport when you have an early morning flight . . . . or any flight for that matter . . . . at least for me.

Here is the website

www.goodmorninghotels.se

I made all reservations right on the internet.

There are several hotel locations in this chain, so be sure to specify the one at Arlanda airport.

Hal

Hal,

Thank you for your hotel suggestion. Unfortunately, the Good Morning Hotels are now part of IBIS. They wanted $91.30 (775SEK) not including taxes. We ended up booking with Radisson Arlandia for 795SEK including tax. The only problem is it's nonrefundable!

I did enjoy the Heyyy Juuude - my name actually is Judy, which was already taken when I registered. I guess I'm posting incognito!

Oh no, the Good Morning Hotels are part of Ibis!

I stayed at the Good Morning in Linkoping. It had an aircraft theme. There were aircraft parts in the front window, a parachute in the elevator area, aircraft pictures in the rooms. Very unusual.

There's no better place to stay at the Stockholm Airport than the Radisson SAS. It's right IN the airport terminal, and it includes FULL cooked breakfast (the Danish pastries are none like we get here in the States). VERY quiet rooms. Just take the elevator down and you're in the terminal.
