where to stay in Rome?
My husband and I are travelling to Rome with our 10 year old son for a week in May.
We stayed in a pensione in Ottivanio many years ago and are now thinking of renting an apartment in that area as we found it quiet but not too far from the main sights. Has anyone any experience of staying in apartments there? We've looked at various sites , ie sleepinitaly, guestinitaly, bbroma, realrome etc. Our main priority is that we stay somewhere quiet as we live in the countryside and find it hard to sleep if there is a lot of noise outside! All observations welcome.

Sorry I can't help except to suggest VRBO - I am also going to Rome in May and renting an apartment. I rented from an individual in Paris off of the VRBO website and had a great experience. We are looking for in town (and on a budget), and many of the ones I found were near the vatican and in the trastevere area which seems to be more on the outskirts. You might give it a look. Good luck!

I suggest you email www.romepower.com. Marco and Alessandro are most helpful and their office is near where you want to be, so they may have a suggestion of an apartment that would be perfect. Give them a try. I just returned from Rome and had a wonderful rental experience with them. Their web site is also very detailed, with photos of each room and detailed information on the areas where the aprtments are located.

Perhaps try www.domani-usa.com - - I know they have one or two apartments listed for Rome.
Best wishes,
