Small Apts in Rome?

Recent posts discussing various Rome apartments(agencies) have been infomative. However most acccommodations mentioned are larger than we need. My wife and I are looking for just a room/bath with a kitchenette( morning coffee, microwave deal). Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Thanks
Tony

Tony 25,

I would go to www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owners) as they have a few places listed that may fit your needs.

We didn't rent from vrbo.com when I was making our apartment reservations last March as I didn't know about the site, but on our next trip I will definitely look into some of the offerings.

You might want to look up www.sleepinitaly.com and check out their apartments. They have a short list, all hovering around 100 euros a night, that suit two people. They also have some B&Bs, the first of which might appeal to you. It is called Relais ai Banchi Vecchi, in the Campo dei Fiori area. It consists of a bedroom, bathroom, small kitchenette with mini-bar, and runs 130 euros a night (including breakfast served to you). I was very sorry it was not available the week my husband and I will be in Rome!

We used the B & B Association of Rome (which also has apartments) and loved it. We had a fabulous small 1 bedroom just off Campo de Fiori, but that sounds too big for you - they do have some smaller ones, though.

I'd suggest you do a quick search and then call them for help. They were very friendly and helpful when we used them.

Good luck!

Hi Tony, Just wanted to let you know I have used the sleepinitaly site and I loved them! I have nothing but good things to say of their selections and service & I don't work for them either! I tell everyone I know who goes to Italy to check them out. I like staying in apartments when I go there too but I see they have some pretty decent B&B's also. Good luck in your findings! Eileen

I agree with the post above. I used www.sleepinitaly.com to book an apartment in Rome in July and we were thrilled with it. It was larger than you need and therefore I won't recommend it in particular. Check the site out. Once I was close to booking I called the travel agency and spoke to a very helpful person called Guilia who assisted me by answering some questions. They were very responsive to e-mail requests as well. I would highly recommend it. Good luck.
