Where to stay in Rome

We will be travelling to Rome in a few short weeks ... any suggestions as to what part of Rome we should stay? We will have our young (4 and 7) with us.

Stay in any of the centro storico neighborhoods; Campo di Fiore, Piazza Navona, Piazza della Rotonda. If by "a few short weeks" you mean the week before or after Easter, better get busy now booking a place.

Definitely try staying in the centro storico, and I agree with Grinisa's recommendation. Anything in the campo di fiori/piazza navona/piazza della rotunda (Pantheon area) would be centrally located.

Santa Chiara has nice family suites/quads and is in an excellent location (behind the Pantheon).

I also agree with Grinisa about the best area, and note that it won't be near a metro stop. It's still the best area.
