Where to Stay Gorge du Tarn
We want to spend 3 nights at the end of September in the Gorges du Tarn. Not sure where would be the best location to stay in Millau or in Sainte-Énimie @ Chateau De La Caze. Chateau De La Caze seems to be a bit isolated. We would prefer being in a small town where we could go out for dinner. Any opinions or suggestions of other places to stay? Thanks!

Chateau de la Caze is wonderful. We had our best meal there. Ste Enimie has rather simple restaurants & accommodations. We dined & stayed there about 22 years ago, but when we were in the Tarn gorges in 2015, the menus in the restaurants did not meet our standards. Le Rozier has a nice restaurant (Muse et du Rozier) where we had a very good meal, and it also has accommodations. There are other restaurants in La Rozier also. See the Michelin red guide.
Millau is fine too - but the other places mentioned are better located if you want quick access to the gorge. We had our second best meal at Chatteau de Creissels just outside of Millau - and it also has rooms. You'll need to drive into Millau, however, if you want to wander around & try other places. We had dinner in Millau too - at an outside place on the central square with a big fountain (don't recall the name).
Do you have my Languedoc itinerary which has a large section of visiting the Gorges du Tarn? If not, e-mail me at [email protected] & I'll attach one to the reply e-mail. Do so soon, because in 1 week we depart for Italy & won't return until mid-October. We stayed in the gorges du Tarn for 2 weeks in 2015.

Hi Stu -- Thanks! Ill look at where you sugggest. I have some an itinerary from you but it is older. I will get in touch with you.
For touring the gorges would you say Chateau de la Caze is a good location? Their restaurant is closed our first night, but they said they would send us to others nearby. I'm trying to balance easy access to our day trips with having nice meals in the evening.

The Chateau is an excellent location. But Le Rozier might be a tad better because it is at the meeting of the Gorge du Tarn and another excellent gorge with two fabulous caves with stalactites & mites. Check out :
