Where to stay for very early next day flight out of Marseille airport

I have a 6:05a flight out of Marseille. Any hotel recommendation for the night prior? Should I stay near the airport or in the city and take a taxi to the airport (preferred)? How much would a taxi cost? I would like to spend less than 150 euro for the hotel.

Staying at the airport would be your best bet, as you'll need to be there early to check in for your flight. No point in staying in town and paying for a taxi.

Check the accorhotels.com web site; I think either the Ibis or the Novotel should be in your price range.

I had a similar dilema last year and chose to stay at the airport. (I never stay at airports!!) I chose the Best Western as the best of a bad bunch and to be honest I was very pleasantly surprised. It was really very comfortable, the staff were friendly and very helpful and all in all a great decision on my behalf. They have a little shuttle to run you back and forth. They will pick you up at the bus stop if you are coming by bus or fromm the rent a car places. They suggested I didn't walk as it was so dangerous through the traffic even though the hotel is so close. Trip Advisor had some pretty scathing reviews so my expectations were zero, thus I was quite happy when I actually got there.
I booked over the internet quite a time before I needed the room. I got a reasonable price, nothing too exciting but better than the rack rate.

I second the reccomendation for the airport Best Western. Three of us stayed there last year for a 7am departure. Cost us less then 100 euro and with a free shuttle to the terminal.

We have taken many early morning flights from the Marseille airport. Definitely you will want to stay at one of the Marseille airport hotels. You should be at the airport about 45 minutes before your flight. The airport hotels all are about five minutes ride by shuttle.

We've stayed several times at the Best Western, and if you can get a good rate, that would be my first suggestion. Last time we stayed at the Ibis, and it was fine. (Definitely a chain place, but you won't be there long.) We have also stayed at the budget choice (very small!!), the Etap.

However please check with Best Western (you can e-mail) and confirm what time their shuttle starts. Be sure you could leave the hotel around 5 am. I know the Ibis shuttle starts at 5 am.

The Best Western is is not!

I took Kathy's advise and checked on the shuttle time departure on Sundays- not until 5:30a. So...

The Ibis it is! Their shuttle starts at 5:00a.

Thank you Kathy for the tip!
