An acquaintance is on her way to Scotland and would like to purchase some wool yarn for knitting. Can anyone point me to a shop for fine Scottish yarn, especially in Edinburgh?

Tell your acquaintance to have a look at HK Handknit, 83 Bruntsfield Place Edinburgh. She could also walk down the road towards Tollcross and the city centre for just over half a mile and there is a small shop selling wool etc- Pins and Needles, 54 Home Street, Edinburgh.

HK handknit have a large selection and can order any wool you wish to order. I was in both shops recently but be warned the price of wool for knitting can be expensive.

We call it wool here, so if she asks for yarn she may get some confused answers.
